Description
This St. Laurent was chosen as the Falstaff winner for the 2016 vintage, which is something very special for this grape. The balanced 2019 vintage also shows that the best red wines from Carnuntum come from the top Altenberg vineyards, among others.
After a good 14 months in barriques (20% new), this dry red wine is still young, although it's already showing its potential. A wine to store, with strength, juice, profound fruit and great structure. Ripe plums, pickled cherries with delicate nougat on the palate. Extra-sweet and elegant, each sip lingers. A fine example of St. Laurent!
Pairs well with game, hearty dishes and soft and hard cheese.
