Tegernseerhof Weingut Mittelbach Riesling Bergdistel Smaragd 2020 Magnum

A representative Wachau Riesling Smaragd. Twice awarded 94 points and with a great price-benefit ratio in a 1.5l magnum bottle!
As with the Grüner Veltliner Bergdistel, the grapes for this wine grow in the most beautiful individual vineyards in the Wachau. The lime-loving mountain thistle (or Bergdistel) is a synonym for the Weissenkirchner and Dürnsteiner vineyards.

Classically matured in steel tanks and stored on the fine lees for 9 months. A dry, medium-strong white that encourages you to drink a second glass and, at 13% ABV, appears very light-footed. A bell-clear, clean and representative Riesling with a lot of creaminess and well-supporting acidity. Juicy, fruity like apricots, peach with a touch of exoticism. Elegant and persistent, each sip calls for the next. It is now ready to drink, but the wine can still be stored for a good 10 -12 years.

For us, it's a real price-performance miracle. A wine that is much bigger and tastes like more than it actually costs. Pairs perfectly with fish and seafood, but everyone will love the wine on its own.
