Description

At Leithaberg in Burgenland, Leo Sommer shows with this delicate Blaufränkisch what the terroir and barren slate soils can do. He likes to display everything his homeland can offer.

A good 18 months in a 500l oak barrel, but the wood is never in the foreground. Black fruits, some tobacco and dark minerality dominate on the nose. Completely dry on the palate, immensely juicy and fresh. Fully ripe fruit aromas harmonise with delicate tannins and lively acidity. It's pleasant, delicate, velvety and long-lasting.

This wine is just at the beginning of its long journey and has very good storage potential. It shows how multifaceted and mineral the Leithaberg can taste.
