Shilda Winery, Georgia Rustaveli - Saperavi Barrel Selection 2022, 0,75 L

When the traditional Georgian red wine variety Saperavi is crafted in a modern French style, the result is an exceptionally accessible and powerful red wine.

Rustaveli wines are made exclusively from old, single vineyards, hand-harvested and naturally fermented. After 18 months in new barrique barrels, the wine is bottled in elegant, numbered bottles sealed with wax. Each bottle is adorned with a golden emblem of Shota Rustaveli (12th-13th century), the revered Georgian poet, humanist, and author.

What a great value this wine offers: it presents a deep, dark ruby red colour with a black core. On the palate, it reveals a dry, sweet cherry profile accented by a subtle vanilla note. The texture is velvety, with soft, gentle tannins that lead to a long, complex finish. A modern wine with a dense body and an inviting character.
