Marques de Tomares S.L. Rioja Reserva Magnum 2014

The history of Rioja is almost inextricably linked with that of Bordeaux: At the time of phylloxera, large quantities of wine from the Rioja region were consumed in France. It is thanks to these circumstances that barriques found their way there.

A really good Rioja has to be elegant and spicy, shouldn't be too woody and the beguiling tempranillo fruit has to be clearly recognizable.

Marques de Tomares Reserva has it all. Great fruity nose, a delicate touch of vanilla, light roasted aromas, plus some leather and tobacco. Light-footed and elegant on the palate, with great fruit and a lot of pressure on the palate. Red berry and juicy finish with great spice.

2014 is a little more fruity than the already great 2011 vintage, plus a little tighter tannins. Makes a great impression overall, will continue to develop well,
