Description

One of the best red wine cuvées in Austria and 2nd place from Falstaff in 2019!

This powerful cuvée owes its name to the Hungarian King Bela IV, during whose reign (in 1245) Deutschkreutz was first mentioned in a document in connection with wine. This wine was aged in new barrique barrels for 20 months and is made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot (Bordeaux Blend). Grown organically and harvested by hand, it's a lot of wine in the bottle!

On the nose, it presents itself with dark forest berries, some orange zest, balsamic hints and tobacco spice. Elegant, close-knit and juicy on the palate with a tight structure. In the finish, there are hints of chocolate and cherries, with fine woody spice in the aftertaste. Still young, but it has a very long storage potential and is already shaping up to be a cult wine.
