Fattoria di Poggio Capponi Chianti Riserva DOCG 2017

This wine always gives a lot for the price. The 2017 vintage is no exception, and is maybe even a touch more elegant than the 2016, perhaps due to the somewhat different weather.

This Chianti is from the Montespertoli area near Florence. After 18 months of partial maturation in French wood, it comes out powerful, though the 2017 vintage is elegant and multilayered across the board.

With medium-density and velvety on the palate, and very full-bodied, probably due to the Syrah content and maturation in wood, this wine is great from the very first sip. Great red berry aromas are paired with the spice of Sangiovese, alongside the skilful use of wood with a gentle touch of vanilla.

Great drinkability, calling for the next sip immediately. The acid makes the mouth water and you should to be careful not to empty the bottle too quickly.

A wine made for pasta with meat or of course traditional Tuscan cuisine, such as salami or Bistecca alla Fiorentina. We also recommend it with vegetables such as aubergine or courgette.
