Description
The 2018 vintage won the Falstaff Federspiel Grand Prix in 2019 and was made in cooperation with the Sommelier Union Austria. A rare varietal with a lot of expression and charm!
The Neuburger white wine grape was discovered in 1860 in the Wachau. In the Spitzer Graben vineyard, in the very west of the Wachau, it's in good hands, preferring slightly cooler sites.
On the nose, it smells of ripe apple with a typical nutty note. Walnut and subtle spice soon appear. Very juicy on the palate and dry with fresh, subtle acidity. Light almond tones paired with fully ripe red apple. A beautifully balanced wine that is well worth tasting and quite accessible. It certainly has potential for the next three to five years.
Pairs wonderfully with hearty snacks and traditional home cooking.
