Description
The first impression confirms: This is Bordeaux—a pure Merlot from the Lussac Saint-Émilion region, presented in a 1.5-litre magnum bottle.
The nose reveals a pronounced use of wood, with rich dark berry aromas complemented by hints of vanilla and tobacco. True to its Merlot character, the wine is fleshy, offering cherry and blackcurrant flavours on the palate, accompanied by good spice and well-integrated tannins that are crumbly yet present. This well-rounded wine is enjoyable now but holds the potential for further bottle ageing, allowing it to reach its peak.
An excellent introduction to the Bordeaux style, this Merlot pairs perfectly with braised dishes, game, or cheese.
