Artemis Wines
Australia / Southern Highlands / Mittagong
Artemis Wines is a family-run winery in the southern highlands of Australia. The winemaker brothers Anton and Mark Balog started making wine in 1996. They were the first winemakers to plant Pinot Noir in the region and as such are now known as Pinot Noir pioneers. Both Mark and Anton have a passion for producing wines of European complexity and structure with an intense Australian varietal definition. Artemis is the goddess of the harvest, the wilderness and the moon. The southern highlands is a prime wine-growing region between Canberra and Sydney with a cool climate. It has mild summers and cool winters. The Artemis vineyard is between 600 and 700 metres above sea level.
