Ernst Triebaumer ushered in a new era of Austrian red wine with the Blaufränkisch Mariental 1986. And now the new 2018 vintage follows on seamlessly - 100 Falstaff points and the best red wine of the year - more is not possible!
The absolute top vineyard in Rust, Mariental, has barren, calcareous soils on an eastern slope, on which vines up to 70 years old grow. Neusiedlersee has a special, microclimate due to the double irradiation of the morning sun through the reflection off the surface of the lake. This is how this extremely expressive, intense Blaufränkisch thrives. The conscious and sensible use of geographical advantages produces unique and long-lasting characterful wines.
