Türk Winery Eiswein vom Grünen Veltliner 2021, 0,38 L

The unique allure of ice wine lies in the precise conditions needed for its creation: the grapes must be harvested at a minimum temperature of -7°C. This rare phenomenon doesn’t occur annually, making ice wine production a true test of patience. When conditions align, the shrivelled grapes are handpicked and pressed while still frozen, yielding an intense and concentrated juice. In December 2021, Franz Türk harnessed these ideal conditions, bringing an exceptional frozen Grüner Veltliner to the cellar. After pressing, the wine was traditionally fermented in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a beautifully balanced blend of sweetness and fresh savour.

The wine has a bright golden yellow colour, with the nose and palate showcasing clear aromas of pineapple, peach, and honey. Its sweetness and acidity harmonise exquisitely, finishing with a delicate hint of spice. This sweet wine speciality has a long, lingering finish and an impressive ageing potential of 20 years or more.
