Saperavi, an ancient indigenous red grape variety from Georgia, is one of the most important and historic cultivars of the Kakheti region. Traditionally vinified in qvevris—large clay amphorae—this time-honored method imparts depth and complexity to the wine.

Rustaveli wines are crafted exclusively from old single vineyards, with each grape hand-harvested for the highest quality. After fermentation in amphorae, the wine undergoes gentle pressing before maturing for an additional six months in the same vessels, followed by further aging in large wooden barrels. It is bottled unfiltered, in elegant, numbered bottles, and sealed with wax. Each bottle proudly bears a golden emblem of Shota Rustaveli (12th-13th century), Georgia’s revered poet, humanist, and literary icon.

This wine is as expressive as it is refined—deep ruby red with a violet hue, boasting an extra-dry yet powerful body. The nose and palate reveal layers of ripe plums, cherries, blackberry compote, and warm spices. Well-integrated tannins and a gentle acidity enhance its multi-dimensional character, while delicate minerality and a cool, elegant note linger on the long finish.
