The Hoch Sernau vineyard in Gamlitz is one of Southern Styria's premier sites, located next to the newly established Domaine 1196 winery. Here, top winemaker Reinhard Muster crafts this exceptional white wine with meticulous care and precision. This steep, renowned slope produces complex, multi-layered, and long-lasting white wines, including this outstanding Sauvignon Blanc.

Hand-picked, carefully selected grapes from the exceptional 2023 vintage are gently fermented before being aged for around 10 months in large oak barrels on fine lees. Though freshly bottled, the wine is young and dynamic, with excellent ageing potential of up to 10 years.

A crystal-clear wine full of character, it bursts with aromas of gooseberries, grapefruit, and white flowers, layered with a distinct minerality. While it has a robust, muscular structure, it remains sleek and elegant. Agile and multi-dimensional, each sip concludes with a slightly salty, long finish—refreshing and deeply connected to its terroir.
