Description

The vines for this wine were planted by the Heinrich family as early as 1947 in the Goldberg vineyard in Deutschkreutz. The heavy, sandy loam soils and warm, Pannonian climate offer the ideal conditions for Blaufränkisch grapes, and they have been cultivated here for centuries.

The grapes were picked by hand, sorted and then fermented spontaneously. After 22 months in new barrique barrels, this still-young red wine shows its greatness in its youth. We find an intense scent of dark berries with a subtle note of wood and smoky aromas. The first impression on the palate is warm and complex. Juicy, round, well-polished tannins with a little tobacco on the finish. Blackberries in the long finish. Enthusiastic across the board and displays the winemaker's skill.

Whilst still young, should be decanted or opened 1-2 hours before consumption. Pairs well with game dishes or lamb, but can be drunk on its own for meditating and watching cares melt away!
