Weingut Silvia Heinrich Cupido Jeu Amoureux 2017 Magnum

Cupido Blaufränkisch has been available from J. Heinrich since 2000, when it was created as a wedding wine for Silvia. Immediately it won at Falstaff. Since then, the wine has achieved cult-like status. Unfortunately, it's only available in small quantities and only in the best years (like 2017). Cupido means desire in Latin and jeu amoureux stands for the game of lovers.

A Blaufränkisch from the best casks in the house and the pinnacle of winemaking creativity. The wine is given time to mature and each vintage is named after an artistic masterpiece as an expression of appreciation. The nose is diverse and tempting with roasted coffee, dark berries and cedarwood. After a good 36 months in new French barriques, there is a fine touch of nougat on the palate. Juicy, ripe cherries and dark berries, dense. A firm tannin core testifies to the incredible size and the very long ageing potential.
