Yoga And Wine - Try It!
Combine yoga with good wine
Wine and yoga - these two terms have a lot more in common than meets the eye. As with so many trends, this unusual combination originated in the USA. Just like a number of bizarre phenomena imported from across the Atlantic, "wine and yoga" has the potential to spread across Europe. Find out more below!
Enjoy with all the senses
Fermented grapes and exercises from India have things in common. One of the parallels is the conscious focus on the senses. While the main goal of relaxing yoga exercises is to feel the body, wine drinkers want to perceive much more than just the characteristic taste of the wine. The special aromas of good wine can only be experienced with a little practice and attention. Another thing they have in common is a sense of calm. Although yoga is anything but easy, it's extremely relaxing. The same applies to wine, which is often enjoyed in moments of relaxation.
Yoga and wine - pure relaxation
A little alcohol can help create a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere. You'll worry less about whether you're doing the exercise perfectly or whether the person on the next mat is better. After moderate wine consumption, it's easier not to take oneself too seriously. Plus, the enjoyment makes it easier to really let go during the yoga exercises. It's also much easier to make new friends after the first glass, making it a lot more fun to join an existing yoga group.
Don't turn your mind off completely
However, caution is advised: Some yogis, who focus on both the physical aspect of the original Hindu movements and the spiritual side, see a clear contradiction between yoga and alcohol consumption since wine can dull the mind and consciousness. Therefore, when wine and yoga come together, don't overdo it. Don't disturb other practitioners by generating an unpleasant background noise. Alcohol is also known to cause imbalance. For this reason, don't consume an excessive amount of wine immediately before or during sometimes demanding exercises. Let's be honest: If you lie drunk on the yoga mat and can't get up, it's rather counterproductive. :-D
Wine and yoga - a new sport?
A few years ago, barely anyone believed that yoga would become so popular. Once practiced only by a few gurus and their followers, mind-body practices have now become mainstream. The combination of wine and yoga has the potential to build on this development and complement the relaxing effect with an increased fun factor. If you're interested in this unusual combination, our recommendation is to look for like-minded people. There are already a number of groups that meet regularly in order to experience their bodies with all their senses. And if not, we're sure you can convince your friends to pay you a visit with a bottle of wine and their yoga mats.
We don't offer any yoga courses, but we do offer the best wines at 9wines International ;-)
