Il Palagione
Italy / Tuscany / San Gimignano
Il Palagione by Giorgio Comotti has a history that is as unusual as it is extraordinary. Giorgio owned several driving schools in Piedmont and Turin, but wine was always his passion and he dreamt of owning a winery. For years, he commuted between Turin and Tuscany to build up Il Palagione. At first, there was only the winery. He didn't even have his own vineyard. Yet he continued to pursue his dream and today cultivates more than 10 hectares of vineyards according to biodynamic principles. He now lives with his wife in idyllic Tuscany and is living his dream.
Giorgio's enthusiasm, passion and wonderful manner took our hearts by storm. His wines reflect him and his mind. The whites, in particular, are among the best and most sought-after in all of Italy.
Winery of the year 2021 from the renowned wine magazine Vinum is the latest and most important award for Giorgio Comotti and Il Palagione
