Description
This Chevalier is a pure Blaufränkisch from Central Burgenland. And, since it's from Weingut IBY, it's organic. The grapes for this characterful red come from the best vineyards, such as Hochäcker and Dürrau, and were harvested by hand. After 6 months on the lees, the wine was allowed to mature for another 18 months in barriques, half of which are new French barrels.
In the glass, it has a very dark core and purple reflections on the edge. On the palate and in the nose, we find the typical Blaufränkisch fruit of black berries and ripe sour cherries well supported by the wood. Juicy, honest and spicy with dark chocolate in a long, warm finish.
A super fine Blaufränkisch with style and a perfect accompaniment to many meat and game dishes.
