Weingut Hofbauer-Schmidt Riesling Ried Köhlberg 2023, 0,75 L

The Ried Köhlberg vineyard, located in the far western Weinviertel, lies just on the edge of the Kamptal. Grapes from 35-year-old vines, carefully hand-harvested at full ripeness, were used to craft this exceptional Riesling. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine was aged in large wooden barrels, resulting in a beautifully balanced and elegant profile that retains its essential freshness.

In the glass, the wine presents enticing aromas of vineyard peaches and ripe apricots. On the palate, it delivers juicy, mouthwatering extracts, accompanied by a well-structured body that provides a pleasant mouthfeel with a subtle fruit sweetness. It glides gracefully, leaving a delicate Mona Lisa smile on the finish. With a great ageing potential of 6-8 years, this wine will only improve with time.
